Root
Cause: DXVA Private decryption was previously
done in the kernel mode driver which requires an escape down from the user
mode driver. Microsoft has decided to use the private encryption for their
Fiji MCE player and noticed that when encrpytion is activated the decode
times take significantly longer. This was found to be due to the length of
the escape between UMD and KMD, which involves the OS. To get around it
encryption was moved to the UMD. |

Bug ID: 2557585 |
System BSOD when run Half Life 2 DEMO |
Direct3D* |
Windows |
Intel® 3 Series Chipset Family |
||||
|
Root Cause: The application provided
a pixel shader declaring a cube texture while a 2D texture was being bound to
the texture stage. This way sampler expected a texture of a non-matching
format and it was trying to pull texels from it, which caused sampler cache
to hang on a hit to invalid memory. |
||||||||
|
Bug ID: 2560160 |
Certain tests in GLSLDemo 3.8 do not have the texture applied correctly |
OpenGL* |
Windows |
Intel® 4 Series Chipset Family |
||||
|
Root Cause: The app calls glValidateProgram before setting up the a certain texture. Function was a little aggressive, returning error when texture is inconsistent. But since the pixel shader - shader can still execute with an invalid texture, texture consistency check is removed as a part of the passing criteria of this function. |
||||||||
|
Bug ID: 2560562 |
Display Switch hotkey not functioning.in Windows and DOS |
N/A |
DOS 6.22 |
Mobile Intel® 45 Series Chipset Family |
||||
|
Root Cause: During TV detection process in VBIOS, the Sense Ctrl bits were set too high. For Mobile Intel® 45 Series Chipset Family, we had to set it to Low during TV detection. |
||||||||
|
Bug ID: 2561065 |
Mode persistense for extend desktop of LCD (Pri) - HDMI (Sec) over reboot does not work well |
Soft BIOS |
Windows Vista* |
Mobile Intel® 45 Series Chipset Family |
||||
|
Root Cause: Display blankout on HDMI
after booting. Issue is happening because DIP was being turned on during display
detection even if encoder output not active. So during set timing DIP was
turned off (stGMCHHDMIData.bEnableDIP reset as DIP is already enabled here
and encoder output is not active) To fix this, switch to HDMI/DVI mode only
if output is already active |

Cause: The compression ratio for 16bpp
needs to be programmed in the following way: The calculation for the
compressed buffer is: (stride (in
bytes) x height (in pixels)) / compression ratio For 16bpp, we will always set the
compression ratio in the calculation to ‘1’ as a first attempt (this
translates to ‘01’ in bits [7:6]). If
there is not enough memory, then we will go to ‘2’ in the calculation (this
translates to ‘10’ in bits [7:6]). We
will stop trying after two attempts |

Windows Vista* : Intel CUI shows 59Hz refresh rate for CRT
only video mode |
Soft BIOS |
Windows Vista* |
Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family |
||||
|
Root
Cause: The issue is that before applying
the mode added through VBT 960*600, user sees refresh rate as 60HZ(when
display is not active) but after applying the mode sees as 59Hz. This is
happening because in modemanager in addvbtmodes() we calculate DTD timings from
which we get RR as 59HZ, user has set it as 60HZ. So we over ride the timing
obtained from VBT over the DTD timing for RR. This was causing the Issue. |

Description: The issue is that before
applying the mode added through VBT 960*600, user sees refresh rate as
60HZ(when display is not active) but after applying the mode sees as 59Hz.
This is happening because in modemanager in addvbtmodes() we calculate DTD
timings from which we get RR as 59HZ, user has set it as 60HZ. So we over
ride the timing obtained from VBT over the DTD timing for RR. This was
causing the Issue. Now we used the DTD
calculated timings instead of the RR rate obtained from VBT. |

Root Cause: When adaptive
deinterlacing is used, planar is converted to packed before other post
processing steps occur, which means that the temp buffer used for ProcAmp
when adaptive DI is used is formatted for packed content. However, when
adaptive DI cannot be used for some reason and BOB is forced on (for example,
if there's a frame drop), the same temp buffer is used for ProcAmp however
since planar is NOT converted to packed during BOB, there is a mismatch
between the format that the temp buffer for ProcAmp expects to recieve
(packed) and what it actually does recieve (planar). Add an additional temp buffer specificially for planar content to be used with ProcAmp when BOB is used. |

resolution changes to 1024x768 unexpectedly. |
NT - miniport |
Windows* XP Windows* XP-64 |
Intel® GM965 Express Chipset |
||||
|
Root Cause: Track
for OS notification that it sends on a Dock/Undock event apart from normal ACPI
Events i.e. the hardware profile change notification. Driver will now
register itself for notification by giving a call back function. As we have observed on Undock OS sends
PreHwProfile notification and Post HwProfile change notification. Basically it
means before changing profile one and after changing another. In the undock case, we create a new event
apart from normal persistence events which will be called for locking the
persistence data base of CUI. This will prevent CUI database corruption. Unlock
will happen when CUI receives Dock event which it will receive from Driver
only when Driver has post and validate calls coming be it Dock or Undock
event. Basically, all the changes are
to lock the CUI data base from corruption without causing any noticeable
change in behaviour for end user. |
